For legal services · NY-licensed small + mid-size law firms

A receptionist that triages the call, books the intake consult, and never gives legal advice.

For NY-State-admitted firms — solo practitioners through 30-attorney boutiques. The assistant answers prospective-client calls, runs the basic conflict-check screen, books the paid intake consult, and routes existing-matter calls to the assigned attorney. It quotes no fees and gives no legal advice; that floor is enforced in the system prompt.

What the assistant catches that your team misses.

Prospective-client calls arrive while you are in court.

A new matter inquiry that hits voicemail moves to the firm down the block. VoiceLab picks up immediately and books the paid intake.

Conflict checks slow every intake.

The assistant runs the initial name-match check against your matter database and flags a potential conflict before the consult is on the calendar — saving the attorney from declining at the consult itself.

Existing-client calls need the right attorney, not a queue.

When a current client calls about an open matter, the assistant looks up the assigned attorney and either routes the call live or takes a callback in the attorney's own preferred format.

Real questions your assistant will answer.

We train the assistant on your specifics — hours, inventory or calendar, fees, team. Sample inbound calls:

  • I was just in a car accident — can someone help?
  • I need to set up an LLC for a side business.
  • My landlord is trying to evict me; can I talk to a lawyer?
  • Is it too late to call about my mother's estate?
  • Can you tell me what's happening with the closing on Monday?
  • Do you do flat-fee divorces?

What we set up before you go live.

  • Conflict-check sync. Initial name-match check against your matter-management system (Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther, Smokeball, or a custom DB). Match → flagged in the lead row; no match → continues the intake.
  • Intake-consult calendar. Paid intake slots booked on the attorney's calendar via Google Calendar or Outlook. Configurable fee disclosure read at booking time + payment-link sent by SMS at confirmation if you accept card pre-auth.
  • Existing-matter routing. Existing-client lookup against your CRM / matter system. The assistant transfers live to the assigned attorney or takes a structured callback with the matter number, the question, and the urgency.
  • Compliance defaults. Recording disclosure at call start with NY two-party-consent posture. The system prompt explicitly forbids giving legal advice or quoting fees beyond the published intake fee — defers everything to the attorney. NY Rules of Professional Conduct 1.18 (prospective client confidentiality) reflected in how PII is handled.
